Nia Testimonial: Sue Campbell, Nia Student
Real Estate Agent
I was born and raised in Seattle. I've been married to Pat Campbell for 39 years, and have two children and three grandchildren. I attended Cornish School of the Arts, and worked as a counselor at Bellevue College in the Women's Center. I've also worked as a Real Estate Agent, and became a Stephen Minister 3 years ago. I started dancing Nia 3 years (and just had my "dance" anniversary). I love hiking, dancing and all sports.
Why do you practice and/or teach Nia?
I love the freedom of being able to explore different levels of Nia. I love feeling energized by the movements. I love the creativity of each dance. I love the Nia community and its welcoming, loving spirit.
Where and with whom do you take Nia classes and/or trainings?
Randee Fox and Gayle Holeton in Sammamish. Pauline Osbourn in Redmond. They are three truly gifted and inspirting women.
What is one thing most people don't know about Nia?
That Nia can change the way you feel about your body.
What tip can you give someone who is considering trying Nia for the first time?
Let yourself go, and remember how much fun you had as a child being silly and free from judgement.
How has Nia changed you?
Nia has made me more aware of my body, helped me to truly love my body, and helped me care for my body with love and respect. Nia has helped me loose 25 lbs. It also inspired me to try new things like drumming.
