Nia Testimonial: Staci N., Nia Student
I'm a 42 year-old female who's been practicing Nia for about two moths now. I have three children, two step-chiildren, and a total of seven grandkids.
Why do you practice and/or teach Nia?
I started Nia with the intent to try a different exercise class. In my first two classes I had an emotional reaction that I could not explain. It was like I was being given permission to accept, open up and receive satisfaction. It is a spiritual feeling in my heart and being that gets me teary eyed to explain to someone. There has never been, in my whole life, a feeling of acceptance or "awakening" within myself before Nia. I am very greatful. I will share with anyone that will listen the feeling that is possible to obtain when you open your mind, body and spirit.
Where and with whom do you take Nia classes and/or trainings?
Teacher Tricia Titcomb in St Joseph, Missouri. She teaches class at Heartland Regional Medical Center for hospital employees three days a week and at the Yoga Room twice a week.
What is one thing most people don't know about Nia?
If you go in with open mind and no ego, you might be surprised of what you are capable of feeling.
What tip can you give someone who is considering trying Nia for the first time?
I have sent many peope at work to try Nia. I have found that you either like it or you don't. I do have some friends who are still on the fence and maybe not sure of the feeling they are experiencing. But my advice would be to go in with that open mind. Nothing is lost by trying something new.
