Nia Testimonial: Nicola Price, Nia Teacher
I spent 16 years in corporate environments, coaching and training in leadership. Four years ago, I took a year off to be in one place (Normandy) and so loved the peace and reflection time, my company, Retreat Forward, was born. I also took my Nia White Belt Training that year and danced every day. I have since trained as a Transformational Breath Facilitator, so I now spend my time dancing, breathing and listening.
Why do you practice and/or teach Nia?
Because I love to dance and so appreciate the community that Nia creates.
Where and with whom do you take Nia classes and/or trainings?
I have just joined the Nia community in Brighton where I am about to teach.
What is one thing most people don't know about Nia?
It works on so many different levels. I believe, through movement and breathing, it has an ability to access deep healing.
What tip can you give someone who is considering trying Nia for the first time?
Just do it... wholeheartedly and fully in the moment.
What was your biggest surprise in taking Nia?
I've had moments where I've accessed deeply painful memories while moving my body, and found healing right there, ready and waiting for me.
