Nia Testimonial: Mary Ellen, Nia Student
I have a BA in Philosophy and an MS in Urban Studies. I am a real estate consultant and writer.
Why do you practice and/or teach Nia?
Because it makes me happy, healthy and wise.
Where and with whom do you take Nia classes and/or trainings?
What is one thing most people don't know about Nia?
It is a community.
What tip can you give someone who is considering trying Nia for the first time?
Dance at whatever level you want.
If you wanted to write about Nia, what would you say?
Since beginning to walk, I was clumsy and awkward. Skinned knees and elbows were part of my life. Eleven years ago, I tried my first Nia class and have been fall-free ever since. I would admit to being almost graceful today. The best part of doing Nia multiple times a week, though, is the long-term friends that I have made. Nia attracts people who want to be part of the Nia community. We introduce ourselves and share information on our commitment to more than just fun and exercise. Nia is terrific!
