“A horse’s nature is to ‘mirror’ our movement and energy bodies, a horse’s feedback can inform us of our leadership qualities, teaching styles, and ability to connect to the sensation of now, moment-to-moment.” Randee Fox - Nia Training Faculty, Developer of the Nia and Horses White Belt Training
"How would it feel to look at your life from a whole new perspective? From a place centered in the present moment and free from judgment?
I am excited and thrilled to announce a unique new Nia Training that will expand your practice and your perspective. Nia with Horses White Belt Training is a fresh new example of an exciting trend in Nia.
For many years I have been working to help Nia teachers who want to share Nia with unique populations. Together, we’ve created Nia Special Applications with programs happening world wide. Several talented professionals from the Nia Training Faculty have worked closely with me to adapt the Nia White Belt Training to encompass their life’s passion, often reaching people who might otherwise not come to a Nia training.
Nia and Horses is just one example of this exciting trend and one of the most unique adaptations of the Nia principles. I have been dreaming of this since the first time I saw Nia Faculty Trainer, Randee Fox, dance with her horses in 2006. Randy got me even more interested in 2008, by inviting me to learn, atop one of her horses, from one of her mentors, Karen Irland (Level 4 Centered Riding Coach). Growing up I had an intense fear of horses, here was an opportunity to confront one of my deepest fears and free myself from its limiting confines. So naturally I said "yes". Like Nia, the work was transformational on many levels. Again, in 2013 with Robin Gates, another mentor, Randee invited me to join her in a very special three-day Liberty Horse Training Intensive at Robin’s ranch in Sonoma, CA. Each of these experiences told me how beneficial working with horses would be for Nia practitioners; and, how beneficial Nia would be for people enhanced with the joy of being near, and dancing with horses.
After eight years of preparation, research and integration, the dream is coming to fruition. Nia and Horses® White Belt Training will launch July 26-August 1, 2014 in Sammamish, WA. People who might never have taken a Nia training will be drawn to participate. They will fall in love with Nia, with their body and their life - with the help of horses. “

The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire. ~Sharon Ralls Lemon
About the Training
Nia and Horses® White Belt Training was developed by Nia Faculty Trainer and equestrian educator, Randee Fox. This training is designed for everybody wanting to deepen their Nia practice, both dancing in the studio, in nature, and with horses. Nia and Horses® White Belt Training provides an extraordinary somatic experience. Whether you’re simply drawn to horses (no horse experience necessary) or are an equestrian, or an equestrian educator, you will resonate with this special application. Discover a novel approach to living in the body based on the methods and education of the Nia White Belt Training that has been transforming people’s body and life since 1983.
This training is the prerequisite needed to license as a classic Nia teacher and/or a Nia and Horses® teacher - bringing Nia to equestrians and horse lovers.
As Randee says, “All of Nia’s 13 White Belt Principles are applicable and synchronous to movement with horses, and perfect for enhancing Sensory IQ, awareness, body language, and an energetic communication with the body, life, and horses. Because it is in a horse’s nature to ‘mirror’ our movement and energy bodies, a horses feedback can inform us of our leadership qualities, teaching styles, and ability to connect to the sensation of now, moment-to-moment. Nia and Horses® White Belt Training will give you new tools to greater self-awareness, movement habits and how you present yourself as a leader in the world”.
Whether you are wanting to become a Nia Teacher, deepen your Nia practice or are an active equestrian or equestrian educator, Nia and Horses® White Belt Training will open new opportunities to create a more finely-tuned sense of body and life rhythms through the exploration of a wide range of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, expressive movement and musical enhancement tools. A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence. ~Pam Brown
