I first found Nia in Summer 2009, through my good friend and Nia teacher Lindsey Krabbendam.  I instantly loved it  - I felt I had discovered Nia at a time when I needed it most.  I was inspired to develop my Nia practice further, and in April 2010 completed the White Belt Intensive.

Discovering a holistic approach to fitness has been a liberating and enriching experience.  It makes me feel great physically and emotionally.  I now feel more in tune with what my body needs and what it can do.  I LOVE the music and the choreography - when I do Nia I feel like a true dancer!  Because it uses a fusion of martial arts, dance arts and yoga it never gets boring.

Nia offers a huge range of health benefits - I'm am continually interested in exploring its potential in terms of my own health and the health of others.  I have noticed improvement in my cardiovascular fitness, strength, agility, flexibility, muscle tone, asthma and stress levels.

Alongside Nia I am currently writing a book and expanding my portfolio of travel journalism.
