Rachelle Conradie

Nia Brown Belt Teacher
, Hong Kong

'In Nia I have found a way to share my love for movement expression in an authentic and playful way.' Rachelle teaches where ever she travels. Nia has helped her to stay true to her mission to inspire others to be joyful without reason. She brings to class her enthusiasm for body awareness and a curiousity for sensing change. She hopes to inspire you to find more zest in your life and love for your body and life.

Rachelle received her foundation Nia training with the founders of Nia, Debbie and Carlos Rosas in Portland, USA in 2008 and with the gold medal olympic swimmer & Nia trainer Ann Christiansen in Europe and South Africa. While living and teaching in Holland for 14 years, Rachelle featured in 2 life-style Magazines (Happinez & Santé) with her Nia Teaching. She currently  lives in Hong Kong and frequently travels Asia and to South Africa. Rachelle holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Afrikaans and Dutch and Literary Theory  and has a solid foundation in many expressive art forms, including music, theatre studies, art & dance & creative writing.  She has studied with many influential yoga teachers who has influenced her teaching, including Mark Withwell, Shiva Rea, Sarah Powers, David Williams, David Swenson, Mark Darby, Max Strom, Danny Paradise, Simon Low. She has also studied the Argertinian tango for 8 years before starting to teach creative movement.

Besides her creative movement she worked as an online editor and has teached online writing at Leiden University in The Netherlands. She found it essential to balance her computer based work with movement, teaching Nia and Tango. In Hong Kong she currently teaches yoga to all walks of life, and enjoys studying. She enjoys dancing with her husband and two young children.

"I love the diversity of Nia, blending martial arts, dance arts and healing arts (such as yoga). Nia blends Eastern and Western movement forms to tone the body, mind and spirit. Nia has enhanced my creativity and playfulness for which I am grateful to share"

Living and teaching in many different cultural environments, including South Africa, The Netherlands and more recently in Hong Kong, I am blessed with the opportunity of learning to be myself within diverse cultural environments. Nia has helped me embrace my new surroundings by giving me an opportunity to bring joy and change in my life and those I meet or attend my classes. I love that Nia embraces play, creativity and a diversity of movement forms, and has made teaching and living in my body more fun."
