5 Must Dos Before Summer Ends

Summer is meant to be a time to relax, revive, and rejuvenate ourselves. As summer transitions into fall, many of us are left wishing we did more. Between a plethora of activities and obligations, the promised freedom of summer slips away. Luckily, there are some simple and easy things you can do to savor the last of these warm, summery days, enjoying both yourself and your life!

1. Go Outside! Take the warm weekend as an opportunity to do an adventurous outdoor activity you may have never done before, such as white water rafting, rock climbing, or zip-lining. For those of us that want to walk on the safe side, hiking, swimming, and kayaking are great alternatives.

2. Create Family Time. Throughout the school year, it can be hard to set aside family time. Take one of these final weekends and plan a family activity or outing. While this may not be something that meets your need of “me time”, spending time with family makes you a happier and more balanced person.

3. Try Something New. Sample a cuisine you’ve never had before, take a fitness class you’ve been wanting to do, and/or volunteer for an organization-the possibilities are endless.

4. Go on a Day Trip. It is difficult to plan, prepare, and have the time off to take a long vacation. Pick a day to travel outside of your city or town and explore uncharted territory-you’ll be surprised what you can find just around the corner!

5. Breathe! Yes, even summer life can be stressful. Don’t forget to take as many moments as you need to pause and breathe, and when you’re ready, settle back into reality. Transition into the next season with ease.

Don’t let your busy life take over opportunities to better yourself and create new life experiences. There’s STILL time to do what you’ve been wanting to do, and it’s OK to take the time to do it. Relish in the final month of this summer and jump head first into your aspirations.
