"Nia inspires me to continue on a personal journey of self-discovery, self actualization and healing. For me, learning is one of the most exciting journeys and being in a body is one of the most poetic and romantic experiences. I thrive on educating, motivating and inspiring people to fall in love with themselves and their bodies. To me, life is my art and my body is the canvas." – Debbie Rosas

My philosophy is the body is sacred. My life purpose is rockin’ for The Holy.
I discovered Nia in 1995 when I was disabled with asthma. Nia helped me heal by teaching me how to listen to my body and distinguish between healthy and unhealthy sensations in my lungs. As a result of becoming body literate, I am now medication-free.
I’ve been teaching Nia since 1999 and leading Nia White Belt trainings since 2011. My new training, The Body’s Way: The Art of Nested Systems, co-created with Nia founder Debbie Rosas, is about sensing the sacredness of your anatomy and becoming a body literate.
I love witnessing the healing, joy and transformation Nia brings to people’s bodies and lives and hope you’ll join me in Nia classes or a training soon. Please feel free to email or call if you have any questions.
Rachael R. Resch, MS PT/LMT, is a Nia Black Belt, Nia Training Faculty and holistic physical therapist with over 30 years' experience in movement and health education.
Rachael's Nia trainings offer a unique combination of scientific and somatic inquiry, blending wisdom traditions of science, poetry, world religions, energetics and the arts in exploration of the human body in motion for the purpose of living well and dying well in a body.
Rachael used Nia to help heal herself from years of severe asthma. She attended her first White Belt training as a PT in 1999 with Debbie Rosas and Carlos AyaRosas, lugging her portable nebulizer to every session. As a result of becoming body literate, she is now medication-free.
A third generation typographer and former professional dancer, she holds a BA in religion and dance from Oberlin College, a master of science from Pacific University and a green belt in Shotokan Karate. She is the owner of Synergy Physical Therapy in Ashland, OR.
Since 1978, Rachael has studied with leading teachers in mythopoetics, somatics, energetics and the arts, including Robert Bly, Joseph Campbell, Coleman Barks, Marion Woodman, Michael Meade, Rabbi Aryeh Hirschfield (zt"l), Martín Prechtel, Stephen Victor, and Paul and Patty Richards.
Inspired by her first teacher, William Irwin Thompson, founder of the Lindisfarne Association, Rachael seeks "new ways to broaden the humanities by exploring the mystical roots of science" and by bringing movement and embodied thinking into the practices of science, art and religion.
Rachael lives in southern Oregon with her husband, author Richard Seidman.
