Notes About This Event

Come JAM with us! On Friday, March 15 we’ll have a crew of stellar Nia teachers--Beth Giles, Marie McKay, Sandy Mighell, Rita Olson, and Andrea Weiss to raise your energy and move your soul. Join us to dance and play with a new routine called Source. The focus is on the eyes and how to use the eyes to engage the entire body, especially the spine. The eyes, the “windows of the soul” are our greatest resource for connecting us with the world.

Proceeds from this JAM will help to support the Jeremiah Program. Based in Minneapolis, Jeremiah Program offers one of the nation’s most successful strategies for transforming families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time. Jeremiah prepares determined single mothers to excel in the workforce, readies their children to succeed in school, and reduces generational dependence on public assistance.

Nia is a movement practice that combines dance, martial arts and healing arts to create more joy, ease, strength in the whole person—body, mind and spirit. The Nia philosophy and practice is one of empowerment, self-love and community, transforming lives through movement. No previous experience is necessary.
