Notes About This Event

Come and join Nia Black Belt Yael in a day of self-nourishing on every level! Setting the tone for the day will be the glorious ambience of Hawkwood College, with utterly delicious food thrown in for good measure, and loving time taken to care for yourself. Time to move, time to slow down, time to reflect, time to connect with sensation and to sense within. Engaging body, mind, emotions and spirit.

At the core of the day, is 'Nia' movement, with the day's rhythm being guided by the natural ebbs and flows of our energy.

About Nia:
Nia is a self-healing and self-enquiring practice, as well as fun and invigorating movement that is unique to every body's individual way. It is a perfect balance of freedom and form, blending the unique chemistry and sensation of dance, healing and martial arts. Done barefoot to inspiring world music, Nia is a powerful life-force energy generating experience, making the whole body smile and feel ALIVE!

Nia’s 52 moves are based on the body’s natural design, making it safe and appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. In class, everybody is invited to move at a pace that supports and honours their own body’s way, while tapping into the soul of Nia, the ‘Joy of Movement’! Nia feels like play, even though it has the benefit of effortlessly increasing fitness levels. Nia is like chocolate… you just have to taste it to know what it’s like! Every ‘body’ is welcome.

Yael Hochenberg is a certified Nia Black Belt teacher (advanced level), with an extensive background in dancing, music and healing. Her qualifications include BMus (hons), Premier Prix GSMD, ITEC Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, Nia Black Belt, Somatic Exercise Coach
