Notes About This Event

POSTPONED. Our days are getting longer, bringing us more light. Light needs shadow, shadow needs light, the beautiful dance of harmony.
For the upcoming Nia FreeDance Experience (NFDE), we will be exploring movement with, for and from both our shadow and our light.

What if:
* I could discover more about the balance of my shadow and my light and have the capacity to dance them, together?
* I had the courage to move into the dark spaces, the ‘rooms’ inside that I seldom visit? What is in the shadow, in the dark, deep down, fertile, rich, damp, soil, growing out of my awareness?
* I can remember that shadow is not 'bad' and light is not 'good.' They are two parts of an integrated whole. And all of the parts of me deserve to be seen, heard, known, blessed and integrated.
* I can trust that when I welcome both the shadow and light with compassion, I allow myself to feel safe to bring anything and everything into presence. Whatever arises is there for me to listen to and learn from.
* In the shadow runs some of my richest creative juice, my primal wildness, my screaming desires. I might find parts that are hurting, blinded, paralyzed, fearful. The shadow leads me into brilliant light.
* The light feels TOO BRIGHT? Am I ready to discover WHO I TRULY AM? Wonderful, radiant ME! What happens if I truly embrace my brilliant light, no longer needing to cut anything off, shut anything down, or keep anything hidden?

When I embrace both my shadow and my light, I feel all the pieces of me, the magical mystical mosaic, where integration and wholeness live. I sense balance and ease and depth and tears and laughter, sorrow and joy.

Let's meet on the dance floor and continue our healing... together.

*Ring the bells that still can ring * Forget your perfect offering * There is a crack, a crack in every-thing * That's how the light gets in * That's how the light gets in * That's how the light gets in * (Leonard Cohen)
