Notes About This Event
I am joining with regional Nia teachers and students to create a benefit class on Saturday January 19 at Bayfront Park Recreation Center on Longboat Key. This concept was started by Nia teacher Christine Stineman, of St. Petersburg who has family impacted by the tragedy.
This is a benefit for Newtown Youth and Family Services, a non-profit mental health clinic and youth services organization offering on-going emergency counseling for families, community members or staff involved in the Sandy Hook Elementary school tragedy. They are a HUGE source of support for the community during this time of mourning and healing.
The benefit will be held during Nia class Saturday, January 19th at 10 AM at the Bayfront Park Recreation Center on Longboat Key. if you can't make it to class that day, you can still donate! Please message me and I will make it easy. All proceeds going directly to Newtown Youth and Family Services. MORE
I know this tragedy has deeply affected everyone. For Nia teacher in St. Petersbury Christine Stineman, this has hit very close to home.
“I spent a lot of time Newtown growing up. My Dad and Stepmom have lived there for 30 years. My little brother and sister went to Sandy Hook School. It will be a long, healing process for this sweet little town. They will get through it with the strength of the world behind them and are appreciative of efforts to help.
