What is Nia?
Nia is a movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance and healing arts. Classes are taken barefoot to wonderful music and every experience can be adapted to individual needs and abilities. Step into your own joyful journey with Nia, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live. Every class offers a unique blend of movement and music that condition and energise the main areas of the body: base, core and upper extremities. Absolute beginners and highly fit athletes alike can adapt Nia to meet their needs by choosing from three intensity levels.
How does Nia work?
Nia has 52 moves that optimize the body's natural design. Nia choreography is simple and is sparked & energised by playing with the 9 movement forms that Nia draws its inspiration from : Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Jazz dance, Modern dance, Duncan dance, Yoga, Alexander Technique and the work of Moshe Feldenkrais. Every class is different, every teacher and student bring their own gifts to the practice and everybody is welcome to move in their own way. You are invited to step in and experience Nia for yourself!
