Welcome to a lilttle bit about me..........
During my late 20's/early 30's I started to experience lower back problems and periods of stress. Believing there must be a more complementary approach to medication and medical intervention, I attended my first Yoga class in 2003 and basically 'woke up'!
While living in Houston, Texas, USA, I started practising yoga in 2003 and was certified in 2007 by the Yoga Therapy College of Houston. Consistently, I continued to study Yoga Therapy with the radiant Maria Theresia (MT) & inspirational Roberto Mazzarella until May 2009. Attending Iyengar classes at Omni Yoga Centre of Kingwood, I practised and studied the use of props under the guidance of the delightful Laura Webster.
In June 2009, I qualified as a Reflexologist with the lovely Patricia McPherson, founder of Derwen Therapies Reflexology Academy in Houston. After this point in 2009, I returned home to my roots in Aberdeen, Bonnie Scotland. In February 2012 while visiting friends in Houston, I attended my first Nia class in Atascosita, Texas - it felt soo good to move my body in a different way! On my return home I found the vivacious Cathy Ferris taught Nia in Aberdeen, yeah! At the White Belt Training in July 2013 at Burntisland, I met the dazzling Stine Masseboeuf. Spreading the joy of Nia with Cathy & Stine is fulfilling and uplifting.
My classes are challenging yet therapeutic and suitable for people of all ages, levels of experience and abilities. Helping find 'your own body's way', comfortable alignment and well-being are three essential goals of my practice and teaching. Constantly practising and studying nia, yoga, self help wellness, anatomy, nutrition, psychology and how nia and yoga can heal the body, mind and spirit, enables me to bring a wealth of knowledge to not only uplift me on my path of body, mind and spirit awareness but encourage students on their own journey of self discovery.
Come along and enjoy the fun with Cathy, Stine & I at RGU Campus, Garthdee, Aberdeen on Fridays at 10am.
A warm welcome awaits :-)
