Lynn Gravatt has 15 years of extensive dance training (ballet, tap, jazz, modern, african, latin, swing). After a 7 year hiatus from the dance world, Lynn discovered Nia in 2009 and was hooked! She got her White Belt in Nov 2009, Green Belt in July 2010, and Blue Belt in Sept 2011. She is also certified to teach the Nia 5 Stages of self healing.
Since taking her first Nia class back in the spring of 2009, her life has been completely transformed! Nia got her back in touch with her body and her love of dance and the creative arts. She is in better shape than when she was in high school and is dancing more than ever! Through Nia, Lynn found an intense passion for the human body and the creative arts, this has lead her to study numerous somatic and movement modalities in addition to Nia. These include Continuum with founder Emilie Conrad, hybrid dance with Amy O’Neal of the Seattle based dance company Tiny Rage, burlesque with Seattle’s Academy of Burlesque founder Miss Indigo Blue, and various forms of contemplative and improvisational dance with the likes of Barbara Dilley from Naropa University and Anne Halprin, founder of Tamalpa Institute.
Lynn holds a B.S. and a M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and is also a artist, dancer/performer, and energy healer in the Minneapolis area. She hopes Nia will change your life the same way it changed hers, she knows it can! For more about Lynn check out her website www.divinedeflame.com
