I grew up as an athlete, pushing my body hard and pounding the heck out of my joints - great fun, but it took its toll, and I was in pain. I began practicing Nia regularly in 2004, and have been discovering that using pleasure as my guide can bring so much more strength and healing to my body – and my life - than my previous mantra of "No Pain No Gain." I used to be strong but rigid. Now, thanks to Nia, I feel strong and supple, able to move with grounded stability, creativity, variety, and freedom. Oh! And a lot less pain!
I completed my Nia White Belt training and teacher certification in 2008 with France-Laude Gohard and began teaching in 2009. I LOVE to dance, and Nia brings joy and passion to my life. I completed my Green Belt training with Carlos AyaRosas, Britta van Tagen, and Ken Gilbert in July 2010, and I love learning and sharing the joy of Nia!

While I've been training and launching my coaching business, I've taken a pause from teaching regular Nia classes. Nevertheless, Nia remains a part of my life everyday. Watch for new classes and workshops in the future!
