May 2016 update: I'm co-teaching the Monday noon class at NiaMoves in Houston on these dates: 5/23, 5/30, and 6/6 with Ashley Turner.
I will teach these Saturday classes on 5/28 and 6/6 at NiaMoves: 8 am Nia; 9:15 Nia for Beginners.
On Saturday 5/28 I will co-teach in the Nia Jam at the Arthur Murray Studio in Austin.
What to say? Nia has enriched my life beyond words.
I took my first class at age 49 in Austin, Texas, with Holly Nastazi. That Tuesday my life was transformed. I recognized instantly that Nia was for me.
My practice over the past 19 years has helped me maintain -- and even increase! -- my strength, endurance, joy, and vitality.
Blue and Brown Belt intensives with Helen Terry at Soma Ranch have added to the juice I feel.
In summer 2015 I completed the Nia FreeDance training with Debbie Rosas. Soon after, my Ashland teacher, Rachael Resch, and my friend, Kim Faith, and I brought this deep and amazing practice to Ashland.
Last November I completed the Moving to Heal training in San Antonio in Adelle Brewer's studio. Fabulous!
I bow to these teachers and all others involved in this beautiful practice.
These days I am living a gypsy life in Ashland, Oregon (summer), Austin and Houston, Texas (spring and fall), and Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico (winter). I teach wherever I go, whenever it is possible. I hope to have the privilege of moving with you in one of these places.
