I went to my first Nia class at my local fitness club in October 2007, to see what this new class was all about. Tracey Fenner led the class & the routine was 'Dreamwalker'. I loved the class - the variety of movement, the music & Tracey's wonderful teaching. I've been to many types of fitness classes over the years, but this was so different. I felt energized & uplifted after class, yet also very grounded. I regularly went to Tracey's class until she moved to Hong Kong 2 years later. I continued classes with Mary-Claire Williamson locally & also Jill Raine at Tattenhall. As my passion for Nia grew & after a fantastic week of Nia in Portugal with Tracey in October 2010, I felt inspired to deepen my knowledge of Nia & also to teach.
In April 2011 at Tattenhall, I took the White Belt with Helen Terry & began teaching the next month. I had been teaching Yoga since 2007, so this helped me to take the step into teaching Nia. In July 2012 I took the Blue Belt, with Helen, again at Tattenhall. I teach Nia & Yoga classes throughout the week & feel very blessed to have a 'job' I love so much!
