I found Nia in 2009 after I experienced a major corporate restructuring, found myself unemployed and seeking new opportunities. Nia opened pathways in my mind, body, and spirit unlike any other fitness program I had experienced.
In 2012, I attended a Nia Retreat, in Troncones, Mexico. During the retreat, one of the participants approached me and said, "I believe dancing with your group made the greatest impact on my healing and I am now ready to return home." In that moment I felt called to teach Nia to spread the joy of this healing practice.
I have found the Nia practice evokes a radiant euphoria in me. Founders, Debbie & Carlos Rosas coined Nia, “The Joy of Movement.” Debbie says, "Nia is like chocolate - you just need to taste it."
In 2014, because of my passion for Nia and my belief in its ability to transform lives, I pursued my White Belt. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Adult and Organization Development and I am a Certified Professional Coach.
As a Nia White Belt, I teach bliss – filled Nia classes in the Minneapolis, Metro area where I live and work as an AbunDANCE coach for my company - Abundance Coaching and Wellness, LLC.
I intend on taking Nia international with Hughes Foundation where I plan to serve and teach Nia to children Orphaned by AIDS in Nagpur India.
My Nia students have nicknamed me, "Dawn Bliss" and my guiding quote is, "life is too important to be taken too seriously." My spirit animal is the flying squirrel.
I would be delighted to guide you through a Nia Practice. I look forward to seeing you in one of my Nia Playshops!
