Joy arrives, cool drop,
restores these stagnant waters
awake in body, I flow
~ my Nia haiku
Nia has changed the way I think about fitness and, literally, brought me more life. I've always been active, especially walking and hiking off the beaten path. Taking up a regular practice of Nia has opened me to new ways of moving and new awareness of body-mind connection. My whole body moves more freely, I'm more flexible and better conditioned, and I enjoy and feel more alive with other physical activities.
I started taking Nia classes regularly in August, 2009 and began teaching in November, 2010. I'm really happy and proud to share Nia with others. I teach at Dancing Lotus Center, where I began my teaching, and teach both Classic Nia and Move I.T. classes at Carroll College.
