About the Nia Green Belt
Green Belt is an optional training, which focuses entirely on developing and embodying the skills to effectively teach Nia. All belt levels who teach or desire to teach are strongly encouraged to attend this training.
The Nia Promise and Delivering the Nia Experience are phrases we use to express the transformative power of Nia; to a Nia Teacher's ability to deeply move and touch people within the classroom environment. As a teacher, your role is to guide people through a meaningful journey of physical conditioning and self-discovery. Teaching Nia is all about sharing your personal experience – your physical and emotional sensations, visual images and feelings. To do so, you must have a solid understanding of the form, objective curriculum and communication techniques.
Green Belt comprehensively explores all mechanics of delivering the work, including embodying the choreography, cueing, creating intentional silences, dancing to the music and helping people achieve their personal fitness goals. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned teacher, Green Belt will further your teaching skills. New teachers develop confidence, craft and skill by learning and practicing the foundations of teaching. Seasoned teachers refine and deepen their understanding, building on their craft and receiving feedback from peers to deliver the most powerful experience possible.
The Green Belt training includes a pre-training course based on the 13 White Belt principles. As part of the training, you will learn and work with the routine, Passion.

I believe that JOY is available to all! The spirit of Nia is JOY, a way to touch peoples lives, discover our creativity and get our "stuff" done! With Nia we get to explore through movement, through the body, I love that, and I would like to share that with you. Regardless of what is happening in your life, you can walk into a room where Nia is occurring and experience Joy. Joy as a physical sensation in your body. Joy that you can use to heal your body and your life. A physical joy that allows you to feel better… by putting the drumbeat in your feet, the tambourine in your chest and the violin in your spine you can change your body and your life. In my Nia classes, events and White and Green belt trainings; you'll learn how to move in a way that's unique for your body, that honors your natural time and rhythm. Movement that makes you feel ALIVE. Come join me.
NIA IMMERSIONS: As a seasoned Nia Trainer, offerning trainings since 2003, I facilitate both the White and Green Belt trainings. The Nia White Belt is an opportunity to deepen your understanding and connection to Nia. The Nia Green Belt is a continued incredible experience and teachers you to master your movement with certainty from the perspective of a martial artists as well as a dancer and healer.
As a student and teacher of Nia, I am constantly discovering and sharing ways to live a sacred life in a pain free body. I travel internationally, as well as through-out the U.S., teaching in venues large and small.
Nia has increased my enthusiasm and curiosity for studying many modalities; Chakras, Kundalini Yoga, Continuum and Breema. I weave these disciplines into all that I do and weave Nia into all these disciplines. I am also passionate about art, storytelling and gardening. Through Nia, my creativity is at an all time high, allowing me to create workshops and retreats such as Chakra Journeys and DreamAlice.

Sullivans Island is a quaint barrier island surrounding Charleston, SC. This Island GREEN Belt offers affordable beach house accommodations for this training; a studio within walking distance of the ocean. Restaurants, shops, coffee houses and a groovy Island Co-op, are all located on this little strip near the Sea. Beach house accommodations go quickly, reserve your space...
Fly directly into Charleston, SC Sullivans Island is located 12 miles from the Charleston Airport (CHS)
Arrive and get settled the day before your training as we arrive at 7:45 am on Day One.
The Island Club house is an eccentric combination of revitalization. Old wood floors that have been brought back to life after 65 years and are easy on barefeet. A kitchen, and great audio/visual system to experience your green belt. The club is a short walk to the sea.
