It all started the summer my mom signed me up at a health club. She wanted me to swim, but when I heard music and saw people moving to it, i just had to try it - I never swam in that pool.
I've been in the fitness industry ever since, turning "pro" in 1988 as a group exercise instructor, then full time YMCA program director, and eventually full time personal trainer.
Though I loved the gym, something was always missing. In 1997 I tried Nia, and my relationship with fitness changed forever. I had been a burned out aerobics teacher who could barely teach another group class to canned music... ugh!! Nia opened a Pandora's box of fun, play and awesome music in a fitness environment again!! Goodbye burnout!! In 1998 I certified, licensed, and began teaching. Nia helped me put my mind, body, emotions and spirit all together in a workout. I've watched people sweat, smile, cry, laugh, transform, and become more confident in Nia. Won't you come and have some fun with me?
